Family Life | May Recap
I'm here. Didn't mean to disappear. I think it's safe to say though, that my blog posts will slow down a bit as we head into summer. I will pop in when I get the itch and when I have the time. I love having a record of everyday life + inspiring things so I don't want to fall too far behind, but lately the computer, blogging, social media in general, has taken a back seat. I feel badly because I want to know what's going on in all your lives and check in and comment regularly but it's just not happening. It's the thought that counts, right? :) I have a very good friend arriving today for a little visit and I can't wait. I'll blog more about that next week. For now, here is a mish-mash of May highlights...
Preschool ended...
Kiddie Kamp started {and ended today}....
I did some {minimal} gardening {um, the boxwoods have yet to actually be planted!}...
The best part of having flowers in the window boxes outside is seeing this on the inside....
The weekly lawn care is left in the capable hands of these three...
I've made some good new recipes {This one is worth a try. Big hit. I skipped the cheese and it was still delish}
We celebrated Memorial Day...
And Charlie attended his first Reds game. A right of passage in any young Cincinnatian's life!
We checked on the construction progress at the newly renovated elementary school. I was a little giddy over all the exposed brick left in the hallways. A little less giddy over some of the paint color options. But overall very happy to see that they left plenty of the 1920s charm of the old building...
And lastly, Jimmy and I shared a weekend alone that was absolutely perfect. {Thanks to my parents for taking the boys} I didn't take any pictures but we thoroughly enjoyed every. single. minute. of it. We did wild and crazy things like stay in bed till 9:30 in the morning and go out to dinner at 11:00 at night. It was one of the best weekends we've had in a long time.
Next week marks the start of summer vacation for Andrew and I can't wait. After school water hose play has been in full swing for several weeks now, the pool is open for business, and we have a bunch of fun summer excursions planned. I'm going to pretend that it isn't raining and 60 degrees out. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!! xo
