Pause
Do you ever wish you could hit pause?
Me too.
Especailly those golden little moments with your children.
And in a way I do when I write on this blog.
You have got to hang on to those because there is a lot of stuff in between,
occationally things you'd like to fast forward or delete.
occationally things you'd like to fast forward or delete.
Tonight though, I'm going to pause and capture a few little random moments from this past week...
(along with a few Christmasy pictures of our home,
I'll post a lot more after we get the fresh greens up this weekend.)
Today ended with Andrew and I all suggled up in front of the fire,
watching Liberty's Kid's on Netflix on my laptop (which I think I fixed, we'll see).
He'd had a rough time at basketball practice tonight.
Got hit in the nose twice, and sat out with two nosebleeds.
He came home is a really bad mood, saying he's not good at basketball at all.
It was late, it's a school night, but instead of sending him to the shower and off to bed,
he got a big hug, a sorry, and a 30 minute "movie".
I have so many moments when I second guess my parenting,
but not tonight. He needed his Mama to make it all right again and I did.
Mirroring your child's emotions - it really works wonders. Why can't I always remember that?
Yesterday's afternoon walk to pick Andrew up from school in the snow flurries.
Charlie kept saying "Snow Day!".
Watching the 2 of them red cheeked and smiling as we stopped
in at Starbucks on the way back home.
Andrew with his whip cream and chocolate mustache,
Charlie eating his pumpkin bread with his hat still on.
Charlie has been calling all the reindeer decorations "cows".
Tonight the three of us went out to dinner and drove around the neighborhood afterwards looking
at the lights. When Charlie saw a lit up reindeer he said
"reincow" and then "moo - moo". Andrew and I were in stitches. At least he is trying.
Tuesday, the cold weather kept me and C in our jammies till 12:00.
I am grateful that errands could be put off another day, and I could spend it
snuggling with my delicious little one, watching Frosty for the first time,
and then over and over again.
Happy Friday to you tomorrow. Where did this week go?
