Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Today was a very good day.

I got to spend the day with this gorgeous boy and his class on their field trip to the zoo. 

We spent the entire day there.

I had the pleasure of tagging along with these three lovely children for the day. 

Both are Andrew's classmates.

And all three of them got along famously.

We saw lots of animals.

We got lost a few times.

We did A LOT of this...

(that would be ice cream dripping from his chin)

We acted a little silly.

.

and some of the animals did too.

We joined up with the rest of the class for a picnic lunch.

(Andrew and his incredible 1st grade teacher.  Boy are we going to miss her.)

As much as I love to spend time together as a family of 4, I do cherish one on one time too.

Especially with Andrew, because for 6 years he was my one and only and we had nothing but one on one time.  Now it is even more precious and I thoroughly enjoy his company.

After a train ride around the zoo, we boarded the buses for our trip back home.

Andrew's bedtime prayers tonight were a little more detailed than usual, and

I got a few more "you're the best mom ever" than usual.

I would like to bottle days like this up.

Thank you, Andrew!  My sweet, sweet boy!
